What Can Students Create After 6 Months of Learning 3D at Lumina Academy?

10/05/2026

After six months of training in Lumina Academy’s Advanced 3D Program, K8 students have completed their first Term Projects - an important milestone that marks the transition from beginners to developing the mindset of professional 3D artists.

For many newcomers, 3D is often seen as a challenging field filled with complex software, technical workflows, and production pipelines. However, after only one semester, students were already able to create complete artworks with personal artistic direction while applying the core fundamentals of real-world 3D production.

One of the featured projects was created by Trịnh Hữu Hảo and Nguyễn Anh Thư. Starting from their first experiences with Autodesk Maya, ZBrush, and Substance Painter, both students gradually developed their skills in modeling, texturing, and visual development to complete their first fully realized 3D artwork.

What makes the project meaningful is not only the final visual quality, but also the students’ growing understanding of professional production workflows. From modeling and prop creation to material and texture development, the entire process helped them move beyond simply learning software tools and begin thinking like real production artists.

Another impressive project came from Nguyễn Duy Anh, who created a fantasy environment centered around an ancient castle atmosphere with strong storytelling elements.

Just six months ago, Duy Anh was completely new to 3D. By the end of the first semester, the student was able to independently produce a complete artwork featuring modeling, texturing, atmosphere building, and environmental composition.

The project stood out through its cinematic visual direction and detailed environmental storytelling. From worn stone surfaces and ruined architecture to overgrown vegetation surrounding the castle, every element was carefully crafted to create a fantasy world filled with depth and emotion.

More importantly, the artwork demonstrated an understanding of visual storytelling - an essential skill in modern game development, animation, and environment art. Camera composition, lighting, and scene arrangement all contributed to telling the story of a forgotten ruin within an imagined world.

Through semester projects, Lumina Academy aims to provide students with workflows that closely reflect real production environments. Beyond software training, the program focuses on developing visual thinking, problem-solving abilities, and personal artistic identity for each student.

First projects may not be perfect, but they often represent the most important step in a creative journey. Every completed artwork is proof of growth, persistence, and progress toward becoming a professional artist in the 3D industry.
